sucker for a deal.

I am a sucker for a deal. 75% off? Sold. Although today would have to be my best deal ever. Ever? Yep, ever. One of the local outdoors stores, REI has a "garage sale"  for members, where they sell everything that has been returned for dirt cheap. We woke up early, went 45 minutes before the store opened and waited. We are waaay in the back of this line.

When we finally got in, we noticed that some items were so obviously worn, while others were returned for silly reasons. Ie: "uncomfortable.". One jacket was returned because it "smelled like teen spirit. aka smoke". I had a little chuckle at that one. I digress. I found the most comfortable amazingly awesome shoes, found for regular price ($100) here. Today at the garage sale, they were returned because they were "uncomfortable" they had never been worn, and were on for a whopping $11.85. That's right folks, $11.85.
Aren't they cute? Oh and they are the shoes you wear barefoot, which means they are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn.
It doesn't matter that they are a size too big, I just tie those babies up tight and love my life.

Husband, G,  also got an amazing deal. In fact, his deal rocked. Here are his for the original price of $99. He found them for an amazing $8.98! Yep. that's 90% off. His are also of the barefoot variety.
Yep. we are suckers for deals. But it's time to try these babies out. We are off for a bike ride!
Adios for now!

Roller Coaster Day

Yesterday was probably the most messed up day I have had in awhile. Not going to say much more than that, but one good thing that came out of that bad day was realizing the good friends, bf, and family that I have. :) Anyways today is a new day and I would like to share some amazing photos that a friend of mine has done. He is a super creative guy and deserves some hype! Check it out!

New Years Resolutions

Oh hey there. Happy Almost-New-Year! Since we are nearing the end of 2011, I figured it would be fitting to post on one of my new years resolutions: ORGANIZATION. I am a nerd who loves looking up new affordable organization tricks and tips. However one problem always prevails... implementation. Which leads me to my resolution for the upcoming new year. Even though today is December 30th, I thought I'd start a little early :)

I found an awesome idea for pantry organization here.

Simply take an over-the-door shoe holder and attach it to the door of your pantry (if applicable) and voila! Instant storage! Wanna see what mine looks like? Okay, I'll show you. Please don't judge my embarrassingly large tea collection. This realization of excessive tea led G (husband) to determine I was not to buy any more tea! (We'll see about that *insert evil laugh here*)
Cute, right? Right.

I will just give myself a pat on the ol' back for already working on one of my new years resolution before the new year. Self-gratification is a trait of mine.

Happy New Year!

Snowman Soup

Merry Christmas!
This post may be a little late, but I wanted to show y'all what I gave my co-workers for Christmas! It was so simple and so very fun to make! When I told G that I was making "snowman soup" he responded with a disgusted face, haha. I guess it doesn't sound that great, but 'tis the cutest little gift! I found the tutorial with adorable free printables here.

Here is a picture of how mine turned out!

My co-workers were in love with them.. you can just call me Crafty Cathy. or W. both work.

Merry Christmas!

Busy Busy Busy

I have been super busy with work and the holidays (getting presents, wrapping them, visiting). Today a friend of mine has a photography show I would love to go see. She is by far one of the most talented people I know. Check out her blog! Below is a picture that I think is so stunning and creative.

Holidays!

This is the first year I have actually been excited for the holidays. Probably because my finals ended early and I actually get a holiday. Makes sense really. Now that I have some time to myself, I am going to make sugar cookies like the ones below, minus the neatness and add a little burn to the edges. I will play around with PHOTOSHOP!! so pumped... all I have to do now is watch 100 tutorials and I should be good. I have started many projects so far, for example taking old clothing and remaking it. I have started some paintings and discovered that I have a really bad attention span, and paint takes a ridiculous amount of time to dry... sooo that project is in the failed pile. Anyways, check out the etsy vintage products below, and please purchase one for me. Thanks :)

date night

G and I live in an amazing city and make sure we have date nights where we can take in all the culture and weirdness this great city has to offer! Last night we went to one of our favorite streets with local restaurants, shops, food trailers and street vendors. here are some pictures from it! (I obviously love instagram)

At dinner, our server gave us a science experiment for our water.

It wouldn't be Texas without a boot shop.

so rad.

 imports;domestic.

so far out.

organization for the nation

I am a little obsessed with organization...... not to say my life is entirely organized. I guess it's fair to say that I am obsessed with FINDING organization ideas, then slowly implementing them into my life. Here are some cute ideas that are next on my list!

Living Room:
Here is an ingenious idea found on RoadsidePhotograph's etsy shop. Taking old books, cutting the spines and viola! hidden storage!

Kitchen:
This is an absolutely brilliant idea from simplebites.net. Using a magazine rack to organize those pesky pot lids! Brilliant!

Bathroom:
I don't know about your significant other, but G yells  kindly explains to me how I need to find a different way of storing my bobby pins... they end up everywhere around the house. Well this super woman had an unbelievable idea; a magnetic strip on the inside of your bathroom cabinet! UNBELIEVABLE! (sorry for yelling. organization gets me all hot & bothered).

Office:
Want to know how to organize those pesky computer/ipod/ipad/laptop/printer/anythingelectronic cords? Well, zedomax.com has your answer! Can you say genius? AND simple?! Amazing!

Hope that gave you a little inspiration! Now go forth and organize your world :)

Organization

Today I was attempting to organize my room and bathroom and lets just say it somehow became more disorganized. So I started to scroll through some blogs for some organizing inspiration and ideas. The first picture is from Simply LKJ and I will be posting more pictures soon. How amazing would it be to wake up and have your coffee laid out this perfectly?

'tis the season of giving

W, here.  Whilst online shopping for my husband, G, I came across these beauties:
madden girl  Zorrba boot. so cute.... and affordable! I am all about affordable. Anyway, my justification for buying these was that G and I are spending Christmas in Canada and I need to keep these Texan toes warm! Right? RIGHT?  G agrees. He knows to agree when it comes to my little shopping habit. I cannot wait to venture to the great white north and see S!!!

Just Listen: This girl is incredible! Adore.

Reminds me of summer and popsicles!
